I'd recommend taking a look at the documentation I've linked in my previous reply and exploring the SplashScreen API. Once again, whether you choose to implement a splash screen or not is entirely up to you & your use-case. I am pretty sure that the success of your first application was not based on the fact you did not have a splash screen.

Do whatever works for you, I am not suggesting to do one thing or the other :)
